When the cousins come to town from Tennessee, by way of the beach and right out of their road trip car excitedly demand that you take them to “one of those cool places we see on your Facebook page all the time”, first stop is Proof Brewing Company + Proof Brewpub!

Admittedly, I was a big fan of Proper and just hadn’t made it out to Proof since they opened their own Brewpub run by Director and General Manager Steven Brown. I am so impressed!!! Have you all been yet? What’s your favorite thing to order?

The cousins ordered the French Onion Sliders and Overnight Pulled Pork Sliders and both were amazing!!!! I ordered the Pimento Fritters with a local Jam Glaze (wow!!!) and the Giant Pretzel with that amazing Proof beer cheese (best beer cheese dip in town).

Once the kids settled in, we had a chance to meet Steven and he surprised us with a couple of his favorites, including the Fried Green Tomatoes (not even on the menu yet), using tomatoes he picked himself from the Proof garden. I am a fried green tomatoes-aholic. I always order them if they’re on the menu, so this was the perfect surprise!

He also brought over the salad I had my eye on and it is a showstopper in this heat! The Balsamic Infused Burata Beet Salad was so juicy and delicious, the perfect way to beat this heat and humidity! That paired with the Proof Pineapple Cider was a fantastic combination!

Another fun menu surprise was the Scorched Shishitos Peppers with Fried Garlic and House Herb Ranch. Oh my goodness, it was so much food that we packed this up to go after a few bites, and I can’t wait to dig in more later!

Impressive first stop for the cousins!!! The menu is FANTASTIC, and such fast, friendly service!!! Where should we go next? Also, Proof is part of the Visit Tallahassee Summer Backyard Bucket List as a July partner. Get in there!!! #TallyBucketListSweepstakes
