About Tallahassee Foodies
Tallahassee Foodies, founded by Jennifer Leale, began as a simple idea — to connect people over their shared love of great food. What started as a small Facebook Group has since grown into one of Tallahassee's most passionate and influential local food communities.
How It Began
In 2019, Jennifer launched the Tallahassee Foodies Facebook Group with one goal: to create a welcoming space where locals could share restaurant discoveries, swap recommendations, and celebrate the incredible culinary talent across the city. What began as a handful of food lovers chatting online has since grown to a thriving community of more than 150,000 members across all socials, united by their curiosity and enthusiasm for Tallahassee’s local dining scene.
Growing Beyond Facebook
As the community flourished, Tallahassee Foodies expanded far beyond Facebook:
- On Instagram, followers enjoy a visual feast of local dishes and behind-the-scenes moments from chefs and restaurants.
- The Tallahassee Foodies newsletter delivers curated deals, exclusive event invitations, and insider scoops to thousands of subscribers.
- Through Patreon, the “All Access Foodies” membership connects the most dedicated supporters with Perks like their exclusive Secret Dinners, early event access, and the popular Swarm Card, offering special deals at over 80 local fave establishments.
Together, these platforms have transformed Tallahassee Foodies into more than a group — it’s a movement celebrating food, connection, and community.
Media & Milestones
The story of Tallahassee Foodies has reached well beyond Tallahassee, including a heartfelt feature on the TODAY Show that captured how the Group's ideas brought an entire community closer together through food.
Jennifer and Tallahassee Foodies have also been recognized for their impact on the city:- The Women’s History Month Award for Essential Women honored Jennifer for her leadership in keeping the community connected during the pandemic.
- A nomination for the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce Leadership Pacesetter Award celebrated her innovation and entrepreneurship in building a vibrant local network.
- The Outstanding Community Organization Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Big Bend Chapter recognized Tallahassee Foodies’ ongoing support of Second Harvest and other local nonprofits.
These milestones reflect a mission that goes beyond sharing meals — it’s about giving back, lifting others up, and celebrating everything that makes Tallahassee’s food culture special.
