The sister week tour continues and after many recommendations at the group, we were beyond excited to give Proof a try, FINALLY! The bonus to this brewery, there is a pub kitchen on the outdoor deck that I was equally excited to try, Proper – The Brewpub, where you’ll find “top notch bar food”, brought to you by Brad Buckenheimer of Canopy Road Cafe.

Once again, this was another one of those, “does this belong in the taste or experience” category. Just like Happy Motoring, Proof Brewing Co. is a taste and experience, another adult playground, yet kids and pups fit right in as well. Pardon the pic overload, I just couldn’t help myself. If you like taking pictures of food as much as I do, this is the place to be because there are picturesque backgrounds at every turn! There is so much to take in and it begins before you even enter the building with the massive Proof logo decorated silo and a beautiful old red truck in the parking lot.

Walk in and to the immediate right you’ll find a massive chalkboard draft beer menu featuring 24 of their home brews, take a step further to get an IMPRESSIVE view of their brewery warehouse (I wanted in so bad, but try to be discreet with my camera), and one more step to order from the bar featuring their unique selection of beer on tap. The middle area is a lounge with beautiful mid-century modern seating, and the left wall features retro skee-ball and air hockey games.

Outdoors, choose from their covered deck seating or an astro turf area with plenty of seating and friends playing corn hole. This is where we landed to sample our flight of beer and grab a bite to eat. I had never even heard of poutine, but when my sister spotted it on the Proper menu, she said we had to have it. It’s pulled pork over fries covered in gravy with cheese curds and chives! It was delicious, and I swear they put a little brew in that gravy (update – brew in the gravy was confirmed).

And now for the beer. I had seen so many pretty pics of their beer flights on Instagram that I had to have one for myself. Yes, sometimes I’m motivated by what looks good in pics, but it was also a fun opportunity to sample a variety of their beer. As someone pointed out on Instagram, we apparently ordered a fruit basket – peach white oak (since my sister and I are Georgia peaches), Lime Lager, Mango Wit, and Lime Raspberry. It was the tastiest fruit basket I’ve ever consumed. The raspberry lime was by far my favorite. Does anyone know if they can all their beer? Please comment below. I’d love to stock up on a few 6 packs for home get togethers.
