A huge thank you to Social Kitchen for inviting me to their Steak 101 class, the very first course hosted in their beautiful 6-month-old storefront.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself and learned so much! My husband, the true steak expert in our house, was so jealous that I was asked to attend. But given that he’s already mastered the art of cooking steak, it made perfect sense for me to take in all of this “new to me” knowledge. I might just send him to the next class as a fun holiday gift!

I wondered how this sweet and cozy storefront would accommodate a cooking class, but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in – the space was beautifully arranged with comfortable seating in two rows of tables adorned with tablecloths, colorful floral centerpieces, folded napkins, take-home recipe cards, a page for taking notes, and even a chocolate peppermint truffle.
Upon entering, we were greeted by a lavish grazing board and Madison Social’s famous BLT Dip. Natalie Thorne, Social Kitchen’s Sales & Marketing Manager, graciously served wine and steak tastings throughout the night. It was such a wonderful moment to relax, enjoy the class, and be treated in a way that only Social Kitchen, backed by their catering company Social Catering, can deliver.

I gained so much knowledge and cannot wait to put my new skills to the test. Chef Amanda Cauley and Chef Charlie DiBella gave an outstanding presentation on all things steak including butchering, seasoning, and cooking steaks to perfection using a variety of cooking methods. Chef Charlie’s live cooking demo was engaging, and we even got to taste each delicious steak he prepared. With the impressive grazing boards, steak bites, buttermilk tarts, wine, and truffles, I left feeling full and happy.
We’ve been enjoying Snake River Farms steaks for years, previously only available by mail order, but now we can pick them up any day from Social Kitchen, the only local provider of this premium-quality meat. The course was nicely priced at just $100, and so worth it considering not only did we get to enjoy a fun, educational, and delicious evening—my favorite triple combo moment—but we also went home with a beautiful Snake River Farms American Wagyu Ribeye!

We were also given the opportunity to purchase items from their storefront at a 15% discount. Naturally, I picked up a Certified Angus Beef Prime cut so my husband could cook up a variety of steaks for dinner. I also purchased the Malbec wine I enjoyed during the class and some of their delicious tortellini to fully prep for an incredible Sunday Supper. Their tortellini is so irresistible, I often devour them before the steaks are done!
If you’re looking for a unique and enjoyable culinary experience, I highly recommend checking out the new classes at Social Kitchen. You’ll learn so much, eat fantastic food, and maybe even bring home some premium ingredients to elevate your home cooking. Don’t miss out on their amazing community-gathering moments!
Disclosure – Social Kitchen was kind enough to gift me this class, in exchange for my feedback. Partnerships help maintain my expenses, so that I may offer our readers more fun posts like this, and continue to support our locals.
