Our Secret Dinner Series
The Tallahassee Foodies Secret Dinner series is designed to foster community amongst our All Access Foodies supporters—a group of patrons seated together while enjoying a Chef’s Table experience and an element of mystery that makes each dinner special.
The location remains a secret, known only to myself and the establishment during the fun planning process, until it is revealed to guests the morning of the event. Later that day, upon arrival, the prix fixe menu is unveiled, making the dining experience an adventurous discovery from start to finish.
Sage Secret Dinner

Twenty-two incredible All Access Foodies supporters gathered at Sage, taking over their beautiful private event space for a Secret Dinner.
Every Secret Dinner we host is special in its own way, but our evening at Sage Restaurant was truly something to remember. From the moment we stepped into their elegant private dining room, I felt an appreciation for the team that welcomed us so warmly. The hospitality was effortless, the service was seamless, and the energy in the room made it clear—this was going to be a memorable night.
Sage has been a staple in Tallahassee’s dining scene since opening its doors in 2006, offering elevated New American cuisine with French influence. Known for its thoughtful, seasonal menus and refined yet approachable atmosphere, Sage strikes the perfect balance between fine dining and comfort. It’s a place where every detail—from the plating to the wine pairings—is carefully considered, making it a favorite for both special occasions and elevated everyday dining.

We kicked off the evening with a French 75—my very first! It was light, citrusy, and sparkling—absolutely perfect for summer. I had to pace myself not to finish it too quickly (easier said than done). That first sip set the tone for a night full of fresh flavors and thoughtful details.
One of the highlights of the evening was finally getting the chance to meet Chef Terry White and his co-owner, Craig Richardson. Both took a moment to introduce themselves and share a bit of Sage’s story with our dinner guests, which made the evening feel even more personal. Chef Terry graciously introduced each dish as it was served, offering insight into the ingredients, techniques, and inspiration behind every course. Together, he and Craig also own Il Lusso, another beloved Tallahassee hotspot—and after this experience, it’s easy to see why both restaurants are held in such high regard. Their dedication to excellence shines through in every detail.

The menu was a testament to the Chef’s creativity and precision, each course perfectly paired with a glass of wine. We began with cornbread bites and honey butter—warm, sweet, and just the right size to whet the appetite. The salmon crudo followed, beautifully bright with lemon, basil, olives, and demi-hydrated tomatoes. Then came a watermelon salad that won me over. Paired with feta, pickled squash, and sunflower sprouts, it was a refreshing and unexpected combination that worked perfectly. The chicken roulade stole the show—tender, seasoned, and cooked to perfection. It was served alongside a flavor-packed acre pea chow chow, house-made Worcestershire, and heirloom grit croutons that added the perfect texture.

And then… dessert. A choux au craquelin trio—each one unique, playful, and decadent: bourbon + salted caramel, vanilla + lemon curd, and hazelnut + chocolate. Paired with coffee from Grassroots Coffee in Thomasville, it was the perfect final note to a thoughtfully curated meal.
I left that night feeling full, inspired, and incredibly grateful to the team at Sage for opening their space to us. Their passion came through in every plate, every pour, and every kind gesture throughout the evening. Thank you for helping us create another unforgettable Secret Dinner experience in Tallahassee.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredibly talented team behind the scenes who brought this dinner to life with such skill and care. Chef de Cuisine Owen Hardin, Sous Chef Nathan Knox, Kitchen Manager Alex Williams, and Pastry Chef Bailey Dyer each played an essential role in crafting an unforgettable evening. Their attention to detail, culinary technique, and flawless execution were evident in every bite.
