From the legendary duo that brought you Spear It comes a new adventure: Horizons Bar and Grille. Mike Smith and Kyle Flowers are opening their new restaurant in Bannerman Crossings in December of this year!

Smith has a passion for the restaurant business; he graduated from FSU’s School of Hospitality in 1991 and has both worked for and owned restaurants ever since. His latest endeavor is conveniently located at 3427 Bannerman Road.

Horizons promises American fare made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. As for the menu, diners will recognize a few of their Spear It favorites making a much-anticipated comeback, namely the crispy mac and cheese bites! The menu also boasts “huge fresh salads, creative burgers and sandwiches, and more.” The grouper sandwich comes loaded with fresh local grouper, and the black angus steaks are sure to pack a flavorful punch.

Mike also promises “creative specials” on his menu, which are sure to cater to all diners seeking a fresh but hearty meal. Furthermore, Mike’s passion for American fare combines with his dedication to hospitality. His vision for Horizon’s is a welcoming restaurant where diners can gather and engage in community, all while enjoying delicious food.

Smith also notes that his new restaurant is family-oriented, making it perfectly suited for its gorgeous Bannerman Crossings location. Though the restaurant caters to families, the grown-ups in your party will enjoy the full bar, which boasts “premium liquors, local craft beers, and decadent wines.”

The fun doesn’t start with dinner, however. Horizons will serve lunch on Fridays and Saturdays, and hosts brunch on Sundays from 11am-3pm, complete with bubbles and bloody marys. Though the Foodies community misses Mike and Kyle’s presence near FSU campus at Spear It, we are very excited to welcome the duo to NE Tallahassee with open arms and hungry stomachs!
